As an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) you will be responsible for developing, achieving and maintaining the goals of a unit or department by focusing on the unit or department?s daily operations.Essential functions to the success of this role include:
Consistently promote a positive & healthy work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers.
Collaboratively work with nurse leaders in maintaining productivity, supporting initiatives, and ensuring units/departments are appropriately staffed.
Assist in identifying staff development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.
Daily productivity and expense management and support unit/department manager with budget preparation.
Focus on patient safety, patient experience, and performance improvement in alignment with unit/department goals.
Encourage employee participation in decision through shared governance and support change management.
Support professional development to improve employee retention.
Day to Day:
Run front desk in the OR.
Ensure assignments for staff meet the daily need.
Schedule the next day?s assignments.
Communicate case changes to staff, support, and coach staff to build confidence and growth, hold staff accountable to policy and high standard of practice.
Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs/ practices for department associates.
Act as leadership within the department to support staff, Manager and Director.
Collaborate with the lead Anesthesiologist on daily case flow and efficiency.
Will also be used on occasion to help out in the rest of the OR.
Assist with schedules and Pay Roll
Occurrence Report Follow up
**Previous OR Experience required. Must be able to scrub and/or circulate across multiple services**
Schedule- Full Time- 40hrs/ week- Evenings-4X10hrs- 1100-2130 variable days of the week.
No call required but may need to fill in on occasion to cover for team if need arises
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing human kindness to the workplace each day, qualified Assistant Nurse Manager candidates will need the following:
2 years clinical RN experience
6 months - 1 year clinical leadership experience, preferred
A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN)
Current RN License to practice in state of employment
Life Support Certifications per Department Standards; e.g. NRP, EFM, TNCC, etc.
Nursing Specialty Certification:
Required to sit for certification within 6 months of hire/transfer
Must achieve certification within 2 years of hire/transfer into this role
Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
