Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
Create and Implement staff education around surgical scrubbing of surgical procedures. This will include training of both RN?s and Surgical Scrub Technicians. This will include collaboration with RN educators to round out training of the AORN principals of sterile technique and instrument handling. Evaluate and update education material to remain in accordance with changing recommendations in AORN and AMI standards.
Responsibilities
Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates ongoing educational activities and programs for RN and ST professionals, in order to scrub surgeries that are performed at the HSOs.
Collaborates with staff and representatives of other organizations to develop, present and or evaluate clinically focused training, and continuing education.
Participates in activities that promote safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development and lifelong learning.
Collaborates with leadership to assess the educational needs of the staff and develops appropriate education plan.
Daily hands on training of staff in "scrub" orientation including education around equipment and supplies need for procedures as well as anatomy related to surgical procedures and passing of instruments.
