1. Handles and processes specimens according to departmental protocols.
2. Stocks and checks expiration dates of collection supplies.
3. Monitors schedule and prioritizes blood draws to maintain efficiency and patient satisfaction.
4. Processes specimens timely to ensure best outcomes of testing and limiting the needs for recollections.
5. Coordinates with Colorado Mountain Medical Clinic staff/Leadership to ensure a high level of teamwork daily.
6. Interacts effectively and gains knowledge of processes between lab and internal/external lab clients.
7. Obtains, monitors, and records vital signs, patient history, and invasive procedures, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation in the patient?s Electronic Health Record (EHR).
8. Fields patient phone calls promptly and in a professional
9. Assists providers and other clinical sta? with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient
10. Prepares patient for scheduled procedures, including venipunctures, injections, and initiates intravenous therapy as

12. Maintains patient documentation and communicates plan of care with provider including ordered diagnostics or therapeutic

• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• 2 years? experience with applicable patient care and administrative duties
• Ability to perform venipunctures, administer injections, and initiate intravenous therapy
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, medical equipment, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

• Cerner Millennium LIS system experience preferred.
• Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
