SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This position will support the General Surgery serviceline in the hospital setting for 1st assist in OR, floor and ER consult, admission/discharges, rounding, bedside procedures, respond to Level One Trauma alerts as support, and on call coverage.  Will also support other surgery services in 1st Assist in OR. 

This position is supervised by attending surgeons and this position will assess patient and collaborate with attending on decisions regarding plan of care.  This position is essential to the support of inpatient  care, providing 24/7 timely attention to patient needs and communication with attending surgeons.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Master?s degree in Nursing
• Currently licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by State of employment
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
