The Mary S. Easton Center for Alzheimer's Research and Care seeks a Triage Nurse to assume responsibility in triaging patients for evaluation and treatment of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. The Triage Nurse will manage patient intake, assist with coordinating care and clinical research, and provide support and education for patients seeking care for cognitive, behavioral, and neuropsychiatric symptoms. You will receive referrals from the Patient Call Center, physicians, and self-referrals and triage cases to the appropriate medical specialist (Neurology Memory Clinic, Geriatric Medicine, or Geriatric Psychiatry) based on the primary complaint using clear protocols. Nursing assessment of situation and records is necessary to determine appropriate level of care and requires interpretation of symptoms.
Salary Range: $59.46 - $88.39/Hourly
All Required:
- Active California Registered Nursing License or CA IPRN.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification.
- Over six months of nursing experience.
- Ability to complete a Nursing physical assessment.
- Skill in developing a plan of care including setting goals, monitoring and documenting progress.
- Ability to implement interventions that are pertinent to goals established in the plan of care.
- Ability to evaluate the effective of interventions toward the attainment of established goals and to recognize the need to reassess or reset goal parameters.
- Ability to delegate tasks in a management style that is consistent with promoting leadership and teamwork.
- Knowledge base to provide education to patients, families, and other staff regarding clinical and patient care issues.
