The role you’ll contribute:
Practices in accordance with philosophy, policies, procedures and standards of AdventHealth for Children; functions within the guidelines of the protocols for the Transport program that are reviewed and agreed on by the Neonatal and Pediatric Medical Director and Transport Manager.Identifies, plans, implements and evaluates emergency care for acutely ill neonatal and pediatric patients in collaboration with the Medical team for the receiving neonatal or pediatric Intensive Care Unit.Provides family-centered care, including psychosocial support, education, and transfer planning in conjunction with referral staff.Maintains effective communication with referral staff and families.Participates in educating staff from referring facilities through informal teaching and planned educational classes and/or conferences. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all
The value you’ll bring to the team:
·Transports neonatal patients going to a nursery or a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
·Successfully completes appropriate transport training regimen as directed by the Departments of Flight Medicine and/or Respiratory Care.Completes the requisite number of supervised orientation transports. Utilizes Medivac-Aircraft/Vehicular Dynamics.
·Proactively initiates process improvement ideas.Assists with clinical instruction and precepting and serves as a resource person to lower-level therapists. Performs other duties as requested by department leadership. Supports hospital and department mission and goals, and department metrics.Documents and charges for procedures neatly, accurately, thoroughly, and completely and within the timeframe set by unit policy to ensure quality standards set by the department and hospital.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
·Requires a minimum of 2,000 hours of Neonatal ICU experience (per Florida State Rule 64J)
·Requires at least one year of pediatric critical care experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
·Current valid State of Florida license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
·Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
·Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
·Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
·Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
