Performs clerical duties on the assigned unit. Assists in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment, assists the patient care team to provide various patient care activities. Maintains customer service focus essential for smooth unit operation.

Qualifications
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Education & Training: High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Work Orientation &Experience: One (1) year of experience as a medical and/or customer service secretary preferred. The incumbent may require 2-3 weeks of detailed job orientation and training to perform essential job functions with a mentor and/or educator.
Skills & Abilities: Ability to: a) manual finger dexterity with hand-eye coordination, b) basic computer skills and typing, c) convey effective verbal and written communications; d) follow directions; e) organize and manage decisions consistent with current policies, procedures and nursing standards; f) adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the hospital, including all shifts; g) effectively function as a member of a collaborative team; h) respond to emergency situations appropriately.
