Substance Use Disorder OperThe following positions within Inpatient Adolescent Psychiatry, Inpatient Adult Psychiatry, Psychiatric Emergency Services, CARES, and Outpatient Behavioral Health Services are offering the opportunity to enroll in a new program offering a cash incentive to recognize your work treating patients with substance use disorders. This program is sponsored through the ACCESS (Advancing Careers, Competencies, and Equity in Substance Treatment Services) grant. Employees must be >0.6 FTE to be eligible. 50% of the bonus will be received 90 days after signing the program contract.
· Registered Nurses (RNs) may earn up to $7,500 by December 2024 · Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) may earn up to $3,500 by December 2024 · Care Navigators may earn up to $3,500 by December 2024
Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, collects comprehensive demographic and insurance information required for facilitating timely and accurate billing of patients presenting for services at our Child Mental Health clinic. Verifies and identifies patient payer sources and obtains insurance authorizations for patients engaging in all Outpatient Behavioral Health (OBH) programs. Documents gathered patient information and communicates financial responsibility to the patient prior to receiving care in OBH programs. Is also responsible for providing excellent customer service, fostering established professional referral relationships, and assisting all OBH teams with program management tasks as needed to ensure a smooth intake process for patients, family members, and referring providers.
**Bi-lingual English/Spanish is highly desired**
Essential Functions:
Assures completed and accurate vetting of all patients which includes timely authorizations and financial clearance. (20%)
Collects comprehensive demographic and insurance information. Tracks and summarizes reports and presents information on a regular basis. (20%)
Provider Support: Creates, edits, and maintains provider templates and schedules. Monitors and tracks clinic clerical efficiency through scheduling, charge entry, and registration systems. Ensure that all assigned data/tracking reports are complete and submitted in a timely manner. Specialty referrals. Complete and submit reports in a timely manner; may include sessions report, service denied report, etc. (15%)
Clinic Operations: Monitor registration flow and phone queue. Maintain a timely and efficient charge reconciliation process. Keep up to date and involved in clinic projects/initiatives. Act as a liaison between providers, back office staff, and clerical specialists. Promote team building through participation in clinic activities and staff meetings. Directs patients/families to appropriate resources (enrollment, concern resolution, patient accounts). Assist with patient complaints. Orders forms and supplies for units, maintains inventory, and resolves supply issues. Handles service related concerns of computers and office systems. Updates and maintains clinic standard work, improves processes, searches for opportunities to eliminate waste. Support Patient Access Specialist Supervisor, Program Manager and Team Leads. Schedule and attend regular management meetings. Schedule and attend regular staff meetings (15%)
Clerical Support: Monitor, assist, and support front desk staff with registration, scheduling, Health Information Management processes, and all other front desk operations. Manage and maintain cash handling processes and procedures. Know and instruct staff on downtime procedures. (15%)
Monitor and manage all OBH Epic wait lists to ensure each specific wait list meets the requirements as outlined by department leadership and/or contractual/grant obligations. (15%)
Education:
Graduation from High School or GED Certificate required.
Two years of college and/or Associate's Degree preferred.
Work Experience:
Three to five years relevant experience in a customer-service business required.
Knowledge of data entry systems and computer skills. Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
Telephone and reception skills. Organization and written and oral communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and demonstrate flexibility.
Ability to order, track and receive supplies and forms.
Able to demonstrate professional work behavior and communication.
Ability to make decisions within the scope of authority.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and address patient concerns/complaints as warranted.
