SUMMARY: SUMMARY: Neonatal nursing practice requires integration of specialized knowledge, clinicals skills, and professional behaviors. Under direction of maternal child health leadership, provides care of ill or preterm neonates. Understands the complex newborn disease processes. Provides care to the neonate in the delivery room, newborn nursery, subacute care, and acute care areas.Assesses and manages care of the neonate, able to respond appropriately to serious and life-threatening conditions, ability to make skilled, knowledgeable assessments of neonates, anticipate illness, or minimize the effects of illness. Able to contribute to a collaborative support team approach to care, promote family bonding, provide education, within a developmentally supportive care environment. EXPERIENCE: One year of NICU Level III preferred. OTHER: Basic Computer Skills. LICENSE/CERT: Required: BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association), RN (Registered Nurse) State of Missouri, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 6 months of hire EDUCATION: Required: Associates - Nursing, Preferred: Bachelors - Nursing
