JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Sterile Processing Tech, Certified in our Duke GI-Endoscopy of Raleigh clinic located in Raleigh, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team to provide direct and indirect care to patients.
$2,500 Commitment Bonus Eligible | Paid out in 2 equal installments over 12 months in 6-month increments (6 months and 12 months).
**Only new hires who have not worked for Duke University Health System in the past 12 months (at the time of offer) are eligible to receive the Commitment bonus.**
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cleans, decontaminates, assembles, and disinfects scopes and equipment following manufacture's recommendations.
Maintains communication with customers and departments regarding requests and delivery of sterile supplies.
Distribute supplies as needed and maintain inventory of supplies.
Performs assigned duties to maintain unit in a state of survey readiness and maintain quality initiatives. For example, quality control measures, emergency equipment checks, and department cleanliness.
Tests operational efficiency of Instrumentation prior to reprocessing and reports problems to appropriate leadership.
Maintains a clean and orderly processing area (e.g. shelves, counters, equipment).
May assist with teaching of new hires and work as resource person for other staff as well as other units in hospital.
Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. *Employees hired before 2/18/19 are not required to have high school diploma or equivalent
BLS required
Certification required as CSPDT (CBSPD) or CRCST (HSPA)
