Come join our dedicated and caring team of professionals as a Medical Assistant II. With guidance and direction from our staff R.N. and L.V.N., the Medical Assistant will:
- Assist clinical staff at our primary care clinic in the delivery of health care to our clinic population.
- Interview patients, take vital signs, room patients for providers, and record services in patients' charts.
- Assist with procedures and screening tests, such as tympanometry, audiometry, UA, and pregnancy tests.
- Maintain stocks of clinical supplies.
- Assist in autoclaving, and with volunteer orientation.
- Provide pregnancy counseling and administer nebulizer treatments.
- Translate Spanish/English for providers as needed.

Salary range: $22.65 - $29.92 Hourly
- As defined under SB525, healthcare workers are defined as employees who are involved in the provision of "health care services," which means "patient care-related services including nursing; caregiving; services provided by medical residents, interns, or fellows; technical and ancillary services; janitorial work; housekeeping; grounds keeping; guard duties; business office clerical work; food services; laundry; medical coding and billing; call center and warehouse work; scheduling; and gift shop work; but only where such services support patient care".
- Employees (career, contract, student, per diem) in the UCLA Health medical facilities (e.g. Ronald Reagan Medical Center, Santa Monica UCLA Hospital, Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital, etc.) meet these criteria.
- Documented evidence of completed Medical Assisting training (Medical Assistant Certification).
- Knowledge of medical terminology and knowledge of general medical and laboratory procedures.
- Ability to take vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure and pulse), and perform tympanometry and audiometry.
- Ability to perform lab-screening tests such as UA and pregnancy.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills and the ability to understand and carefully transmit spoken and written instructions.
- Ability to float to other facilities within Los Angeles County as needed for coverage.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (verbally).
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and interact in a professional manner with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.
