Under supervision of the Principal Investigator and Laboratory Manger, the Student Lab Assistant provides support to help with basic laboratory maintenance and provide supervised technical support to members of the research team. Laboratory duties will include assisting the Laboratory Manager with the maintenance of laboratory stocks, evaluating inventories of supplies and consumables, waste disposal, and autoclaving glassware and instruments. The Laboratory Helper will be trained to engage in supervised expansion and isolation of plasmids, molecular cloning, and maintenance of mouse and human cancer cell lines.
Salary Range: $17.30 - 25.00 Annually

- Basic Knowledge on Molecular Biology
- Very well organized and highly dependable
- Highly motivated to learn new skills and techniques
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to approximately 50 lbs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with campus departments and the public
- Basic laboratory skills including organization, preparing common lab reagents, pipetting and working with human primary cancer cells
