The Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences (ENS) at Weber State University (WSU) invites applications for a 9-month, Exercise & Sport Science (ESS) Instructor position to begin in Fall semester, 2025.
This instructor will teach in the Bachelor of Science in ESS at WSUs main campus in Ogden, Utah. The instructor will be responsible for a 15 credit hour/semester load, specifically teaching 12 credit hours per semester in mostly upper division ESS courses, as well as a 3 credit hour release for internship coordinator duties. Potential courses could include Exploring Exercise Science Professions (ESS 2200), Structural Kinesiology (ESS 3450), Advanced Strength and Conditioning (ESS 4280), and ECG & Cardiac Rehabilitation (ESS 4470), depending on the area of expertise or needs of the program. The successful candidate can also be active in professionally-related service to the ESS program and ENS department, including the ENS student club, contributing to the program’s efforts in community outreach, student research, student advising, curriculum updating and development, and collecting and reporting of assessment data on learning outcomes for assessment and program review reports. Further, s/he will work closely with the ESS program director and other ESS faculty members.
Instructor positions are temporary appointments renewable annually by separate contract at the sole discretion of the university.

Minimum Requirements: The successful candidate for the ESS Instructor position will:
Hold a master’s degree in Exercise Science or a closely related field.

C.S.C.S. certification with experience or familiarity with strength and conditioning and the NSCA
Terminal degree (Ph.D)
Exercise science-related teaching experience in an accredited institution of higher education.
Experience teaching courses in all formats, such as face-to-face, online, or hybrid formats.
Experience assessing learning outcomes
Experience conducting or facilitating scholarly research.
