Join the most noble mission in healthcare by helping Veterans thrive! The Northern Arizona VA Health Care System (NAVAHCS) has an opening for a Nocturnist in picturesque Prescott, Arizona. NAVAHCS serves the health care needs of more than 34,000 Veterans spanning across more than 65,000 square miles of Northern Arizona. NAVAHCS has maintained a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) since the rating system started including VA hospitals in the annual national review in 2023. Our medical center includes an 85-bed community living center, a 15-bed unit for acute care, and a 120-bed domiciliary that is part of our Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program. We also have strong academic affiliations with several leading educational institutions. We’re proud of our partnerships with top institutions and organizations that support the educational mission of the VA.
Work Schedule: 7:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M. (1-2 weeks on and then 1-2 weeks off)
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay: Competitive salary ($250,000 to $300,000) + annual performance bonus + regular salary increases.
Paid-Time Off: 50-55 days of annual paid-time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME).
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401k with up to 5% in contributions by VA.
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement).
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement.
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided.
Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting.
Employment Requirements:
Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. Must maintain current, full, active, and unrestricted license.
U.S. Citizenship required: non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
