SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This position is in-person and requires employees to be onsite.
Responsible for providing assistance to the Department of Nursing in determining appropriate statistical models for research studies, and providing data analysis and interpretation. This position works primarily with the Office of Nursing Research and Innovation, Nursing Magnet Program, Clinical Informatics, and Department of Nursing quality programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Statistics or related field of study with 1 to 3 years experience in statistical sampling, statistical analysis and reporting required.
Ability to communicate both in written and oral formats, and use mathematics to answer questions and solve problems required.
Ability to apply statistical principles to sampling and analysis while efficiently and effectively making sense of and organizing information into meaningful patterns.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design of statistical methods for research studies, application of statistical methods for patient quality & safety studies, interpretation of statistical analyses, design and programming of reports (knowledge of R code helpful) relevant to organizational goals, studies, and analysis of data sources.
Serve on departmental quality/safety goals teams to advise them on sampling methodologies, statistical analysis and reporting.
Lead appropriate teams as required.
Give presentations of analyses as required to appropriate forums.
Lead discussions in inter-departmental organizational goals teams and other forums on topics related to relevant statistical analyses.
Devise and execute educational development strategies for departmental goals teams to increase their understanding of statistical analysis in the selection of departmental patient quality/safety goals and in the measurement of success towards those goals.
Establish, review and maintain effective policies and procedures necessary for efficient work flow.
Participate in the negotiation of relevant software licenses, service contracts, and fees.
Participate in departmental budget development and manage expenditures to budget. Performs other duties as assigned.
