The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), at the University of Minnesota is seeking a full-time physiatrist at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank on an academic or master clinician track.
About the Appointment:
- The ideal candidate will possess commitment to excellent patient care, strong clinical skills, and have an interest in education and scholarly activity.
- Clinical opportunities are broad and include inpatient consults, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient clinics.
- The outpatient practice can be developed around the candidate's interests, with possibilities for MSK, spine, ultrasound, EMG, neurorehabilitation, amputee, pediatrics, and other areas.
- The successful candidate will participate in research projects and other academic/scholarly activities either as a collaborator or independent researcher and participate in faculty development activities tailored to the candidate's career interests and goals.
- As part of a multi-disciplinary team, this position will join active clinical practices at both the M Health Fairview Clinics and Surgery Center and the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN.
- Consisting of 7 physicians and 2 advanced practice providers, our practice is dedicated to helping our patients reach their maximum potential.
- Educational responsibilities include supervision, instruction, and mentoring of fellows, residents, and medical students as well as a dedicated team of advance practice providers.
- Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidate's area of specialty/research experience with a goal of developing collaborative or independent, externally funded research.
- Faculty will be active in their national organizations and foster an academic environment for medical students, residents and faculty.
About the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation:
The Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation's mission is to provide outstanding education for physicians, resident physicians, medical students, allied health care professionals and the community. We strive to provide excellent comprehensive, interdisciplinary physical medicine and rehabilitation services to our clients in an effort to produce measurable positive cost-effective outcomes for persons with physical impairments, disabilities, limitations and other rehabilitation needs and to expand the scientific knowledge-base of PM&R through research and scholarly activity.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited physical medicine & rehabilitation (PM&R) residency training program.
Board-certified or board eligible with the American Board of PM&R (ABPM&R)
Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice licensure.
Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota.
Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional collaboration abilities with partners and staff.
Understands and places importance on patient care/service.
Detail oriented and self-motivated.
Education focused and a creative problem-solver.
Pay and Benefits:
This role is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. Total salary is market competitive and based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through M Physicians. The base salary range for the clinical effort of this position is $223,962 - $355,399 commensurate with experience and qualifications. The additional salary from the University is dependent upon the academic effort of the person hired.
