BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Full-Time MT/MLS II (Reg) (Days) for our Missouri Baptist Medical Center Microbiology Dept (3015 N. Ballas Rd, St. Louis, MO, 63131)

 Position Details:

• Microbiology Position 
• Day Shift – 6:30am -3:00pm (potential for 10s or 12s)- with Weekend/ Holiday Rotation
• Full-Time - 40 Hours per Week
• Reading culture plates, setting up and interpreting susceptibilities, processing AFB, mycology, specimen set up, PCR
• Mobap lab has multiple tech led committees including Continuous Quality Improvement, CAP, Safety, Party Committee, etc. 
• Vitek 2, Bruker MALDI-TOF, Kiestra, Cepheid, BioFire, Virtuo, Versatrek, Cobas 4800, Veritor 

Experience:

• Microbiology experience (preferred)

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical / Life Sciences or related field
• ASCP, AMT, or AAB Registration

Role Purpose

The Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) II performs specimen processing and routine / complex testing on blood and other specimens which requires a knowledge and understanding of quality control, basic instrument maintenance, and procedure methodologies and reference ranges. Maintains appropriate documentation of all activities as required. Demonstrates good clinical laboratory practice
