What will you be doing:??
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process, supervision of clinical practice, research involvement, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership, and patient care management across the health care continuum from preventative, acute care through discharge. A Nurse Practitioner???s practice incorporates both independent decision-making abilities and collaboration with the board certified/eligible physician to provide expert care to the patients.??
Oversee care for the patients in the Cardiac Surgery ICU ranging from CABG and valve replacement/repairs to implantable VADs, Heart and Lung transplants, ECMO, aortic dissections, and aneurysm repairs??
Perform bedside procedures within the scope of service, write progress notes, participate in daily rounds, write orders, dictate discharge notes, and participate in hospital wide quality improvement initiatives??
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.??
Qualifications
Experience Requirements:??
One (1) plus years of experience as Nurse Practitioner, preferably in cardiothoracic surgery preferred.??
Two (2) plus years of acute care nursing experience.??
Two (2) plus years of experience managing cardiothoracic surgery patients or cardiac patients preferred.??
ICU experience required.??
Working knowledge of managing device patients preferred.??
Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered??
Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License??
National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner??
Current DEA license and Furnishing Number??
Current ACLS certification required??
