We are currently seeking a highly motivated and strategic Program Manager to join the Jona Goldrich Center for Alzheimer's & Memory Disorders at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. We are looking for an exceptional candidate with experience in community engagement, outreach to diverse communities, and leadership skills to join a collaborative team of health professionals conducting state-of-the art research on brain aging and dementia. The position provides an opportunity to develop and implement a recruitment strategy for our growing brain health and dementia research programs. The candidate will be responsible for forming new community partnerships, scheduling and coordinating educational and health promotion events, developing culturally tailored outreach materials, and coordinating community advisory board meetings. There is strong emphasis on developing relationships with community organizations with an emphasis on diverse and underserved populations, especially among Asian American Pacific Islanders (AAPIs).
About the Role
As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of a mid to large scale recognized organizational program. The incumbent will provide leadership and direction for day-to-day program operations and administrative activities, including the authority to make independent decisions regarding program operations, administration, and governance. The Program Manager contributes to the planning, design, development, and implementation of program objectives, procedures, processes and standards. This role may supervise staff as it relates to the overall management of the program.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
May be responsible for program development or expansion.
Plans and implements program operations, determines and develops governance, processes and/or guidelines, coordinates program activities and timelines, and determines and organizes resources to meet program objectives.
May identify program participants and lead cross-functional teams in the administration, maintenance or expansion of the program.
Works with internal and external key partners including other departments, leaders across the organization, representatives from external agencies/organizations in the management of the program to provide guidance, resolve issues, grow the program, and/or implement processes and/or solutions. Identifies and defines any logistics, action items, changes, or information needed to effectively manage the program.
Identifies growth opportunities and further efficiencies that impact the program and/or departments success and aids in development of strategic plans to achieve objectives.
Evaluates feasibility, forecasting financial impact and providing recommendations or making decisions to support the success of the program.
Collaborates with internal/external partners to maintain and further develop program growth, community outreach activities, as well as relationship building and maintenance.
Researches and analyzes data for evaluating performance of program or program operations, including quality assurance and trends. Makes recommendations to leadership and/or implements program changes based on findings.
Evaluates requests for program exceptions or changes, and determines response, escalating as necessary.
Assesses communication and training needs, develops and implements any applicable communication, education, training, on-boarding and/or mentorship pertaining to the program.
Provides communication to departments and leaders across the organization.
Notifies stakeholders of any changes to the program.
In conjunction with leadership, responsible for planning, monitoring, and managing program fiscal budgets and financials, and resolves or escalates issues.
Maintains data system integrity and ensures quality assurance measures are followed based on departmental standard operating procedures.
May provide ad hoc reporting to support recommendations observed through trend analysis for future planning and enhancements.
Monitors program to ensure appropriate governance and program compliance with local, state and federal laws; accreditation, professional and regulatory agency standards and licensure requirements.
Department-Specific Responsibilities:
Develops and conducts presentations and writing publications for the community.
Conducts evaluations and assessments of community outreach events.
Social media development for targeted departmental activities.
Digital asset/digital library development.
Coordinates programs at the neighborhood-level.
Coordinates and participates in predetermined settings, events, conferences, health fairs, and other community activities to represent the needs of the organizational efforts.
Develops and tests education materials and messages.
Drafts communications, documents, or letters as assigned.
Coordinates the expansion of specific aspects of program planning and implementation, including adhering to timelines, and achieving necessary outcomes.
Coordinates all aspects of event management. Acts as point person for event set up, such as securing space, transporting materials, and ordering food.
Responsible for the design, production, and dissemination of collateral marketing materials, such as letters, brochures, and flyers.
Facilitates recurring meetings with community partner.
Implements strategic initiatives within the community.
Participates in meetings to develop proposals and pilot projects.
Oversees all aspects of the established Community Advisory Board including meeting preparation, facilitation and communication with board members.
Plans and leads all outreach efforts to ensure goals and objectives are completed within established budget and deadlines are met.
Supports collaborative community-based research studies with investigators and provides input.
Shares ongoing research opportunities with community-based partners.
Ability to travel to outreach events throughout the LA area (i.e., have mode of transportation). ??
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
5 years of Management, Program or Project Management, or related experience.
California driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with older adults or community-based organizations serving older adults.
Has existing or plans to form a network of LA community-based partners relating to geriatrics, Alzheimer???s disease or other health conditions affecting older populations.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Public Health or related field.
Second language proficiency.
Experience implementing community-based programs and/or working in a community health setting is required.
Ability to speak to scientific topics as it relates to research opportunities.
Physical Demands:
Ability to carry program and marketing materials to and from community events; setting up table/chairs at events
