SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Cleans, sterilizes, disinfects, orders, stocks, and maintains routine and special-order anesthesia supplies and equipment. Assists licensed anesthesia care providers in a variety of patient-focused settings including the routine preparation of patients who are scheduled to receive anesthesia for a surgical, interventional, or diagnostic procedure. Performs first-line preventative maintenance on anesthesia gas machines, physiologic monitors, rapid infusion devices, infusion pumps and syringes. Assists licensed anesthesia care providers in catheter insertion for invasive monitoring.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Current BCLS certification required.
One (1) year of related experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Certification by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians required.
Strong science background preferred.
Previous direct patient care experience with exposure to patient monitoring modalities preferred (this may include licensed or unlicensed caregivers, and/or individuals technically trained in other areas of patient care).
