Summary:
The Business Intelligence Analyst III is primarily responsible for Health Plan reporting application design, development, and implementation of strategic reporting architecture of Business Intelligence at the Health Plan level. This includes an understanding of methodology, design, specifications, programming, delivery, monitoring, and support standards. Individual must have extensive knowledge of designing and developing MicroStrategy, SSRS, and SAS projects, dashboards, reports & mobile solutions. The BI Developer/Analyst III must have proven competency in the following areas: designing & developing complex reporting projects using highly normalized & denormalized data structure. The Business Intelligence Analyst III is also responsible for supporting the business goals and objectives for the Department, the Information Management Organization, and for the Health Plan. Specifically, the position works closely with CHIRISTUS IM & Health Plan Executive Team, Directors, Managers, Application Users, and other IM teams as it relates to reporting, process documentation, business requirements analysis, development of ad hoc and standard reports. This position provides Incident, Problem Request, and Change management supporting and following ITIL best practices. As a senior level team member, this position shares information and assists other junior level team members while providing quality support to both internal and external users with a focus on customer service and timeliness.
Responsibilities:

Responsible for data mining and turning raw data into logical information for reports, dashboards, and tools.
Design, code, and develop SQL logic to pull data that meets specifications for the end user.
Manage individual intake requests across the business units; track and monitor the work to ensure critical milestones are met, identify and report/escalate risks to management appropriately; manage stakeholder relations.
Analyze ideas from business and functional teams to formulate a report design strategy and development.
Work in collaboration with the team members to identify and address the issues by implementing a viable technical solution that is time and cost-effective and ensuring that it does not affect performance quality.
Develop code following the industry's best practices and adhere to the organizational development rules and standards.
Develop and deploy code using existing tools and platforms utilized for automation and testing.
Involved in the evaluation of analytic method or report development and provides input to the decision-making process relative to medical cost, return of investment, operations, and support.
Participates in the development of standards, design, and implementation of initiative-taking processes to collect and report data and statistics on our data.
Participates in the research, design, development, and implementation of application, database, and interface using technologies platforms provided.
Researching, designing, implementing, and managing programs
Fix problems arising across the standard repeatable deliverables and continuously improve the quality of deliverables.
Reference and document each phase of development for further reference and maintenance operation.
Must have strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Power BI or comparable Enterprise BI tool (i.e., IBM Cognos, MicroStrategy) to deliver Dashboard & reports design & development, as well as custom SDK solutions.
Must have experience with advanced level of SQL programing and query performance tuning techniques for Data Integration and Consumption using design for optimum performance against large data asset within an OLTP, OLAP and MPP architecture.
Must have solid understanding of BI and analytics landscape, preferable in large-scale development environments.
Must be willing and able to learn and apply modern technologies (Big Data Integration/Processing, ETL)
Must have the communication skills and ability to develop and present solutions to all levels of management (including executive levels).
Must have demonstrated the ability to solve complex problems with minimal direction.
Must be able to interact effectively and patiently with customers especially while under pressure.
Must have the ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously to meet project deadlines for self and others as required.
Must have the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with other employees.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills
Bachelor?s degree in related field of study or equivalent job-related experience required.
Experience
4-6 years? experience in SQL programming in platforms with large data asset within an OLTP, OLAP and MPP architecture.
3-5 years? experience with Enterprise BI tool such as MicroStrategy or IBM Cognos or Power BI design & development based on normalized & denormalized data model required.
Experience in corporate systems environments required.
Experience with a variety of Information Management applications, programming languages, and technologies preferred.
Experience with writing and debugging complex SQL queries.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Certifications in SQL or Power BI preferred.
