The role you’ll contribute:
The Physicist applies the principles and theories of physics to improve medical equipment and technology in order to help diagnose and treat patients. The Physicist is responsible for maintaining all equipment in the department. The Physicist verifies accuracy of all dosimetric plans and provides care for all Oncology patients. The Physicist will also conduct research and experiment in the area of structure and properties of matter, transformation and propagation of energy and the relationships between matter and energy. Develops processes and procedures related to these relationships.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
· Performs weekly and monthly radiation measurements and yearly calibration on all treatment units
· Monitors equipment in Radiation Oncology to ensure it is functioning safely
· Maintains regulatory agency records and reports
· Analyzes alternative treatment plans, supervises dosimetry treatment planning functions
· Implements assessment/treatment and care based on the developmental stages of the patient.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
· Master’s Degree
· 2 to 5 Years of Position-Related Experience
· Medical Physicist License
