Typical pay range: $39.36 - $59.05 per hour ($81,868 - $122,824 annually) based on experience.

DEPARTMENTAL SUMMARY: The Information Technology (IT) Team provides design, development, security, and support to a broad spectrum of computer hardware and software components, all working together for the benefit of departments throughout St. Charles. We partner with our customers to best leverage various technologies to achieve the best patient outcomes possible by implementing new hardware and software solutions, upgrading existing environments, protecting the data we store, and integrating different solutions to achieve a seamless experience.
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Applications Analyst III at St. Charles Health System is responsible for planning and executing all facets of the life cycle for those software applications/platforms supporting our hospitals and ambulatory clinics, maximizing the business value to our users of those applications. This position does not directly manage any other Caregivers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Leads efforts to install and implement system patches, service packs and version upgrades as assigned; leads complex process improvement efforts; develops and maintains a roadmap for future system improvements; remains intimately familiar with industry best practices as they pertain to assigned application areas; ushers through simple to complex system environment changes.
Collaborates with system users towards continuous improvement of the business value delivered by our software applications.
Builds and maintains system control and application configuration data within software applications to maximize the business benefits delivered.
Understands the choices involved in application configuration and manages choices which support the guiding principles and strategies of the organization.
Designs and executes small-to-large scale application testing as required. Supports and manages large- scale testing efforts as assigned.
Troubleshoots, identifies root cause, and documents problems of simple to high complexity for assigned applications and systems; leads the resolution efforts to the more complex problems. Escalates application issues with SCHS management and if necessary, the software vendor, while maintaining issue status reports.
Investigates standardization and process improvement opportunities while making build decisions.
Analyzes and manages systems of simple-to-high complexity to ensure service level agreements with system clients are met; assists IT Leadership in the formulation of service level agreements.
Collaborates with caregivers across the enterprise to build strong relationships; build relationships with vendors to maintain strong partnerships; leads user group meetings as required.
Maintains data integrity and security for assigned applications, platforms, and systems; leads efforts to address the more complex data integrity problems.
Assists in the preparation for and conduct of user training when required; mentors Application Analyst Level I's and II's.
Collaborates with system users to provide business reporting; collaborate with the Infrastructure Team to provide system performance reporting; satisfies the need for more complex reporting needs.
Manages small-to-medium scale projects and complete the associated Project Management deliverables as assigned. Completes project tasks of simple-to-high complexity as assigned.
Maintains the capability of being tasked with the most complex tasks on the most complex projects as well as mentors others in the completion of other tasks; capable of managing subprojects as assigned by the PM.
Develops system documentation as assigned per standards; draft major changes to policy and procedure relating to documentation.
Participates in on-call rotation, as required, and participates in after hour escalation calls.

EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university OR equivalent work experience and similar successful professional experience may be substituted for Bachelors degree.
Screening Exam: May be required to pass an assessment exam prior to qualifying for an interview, unless already Epic certified.
Preferred: Graduate of an accredited college or university. Bachelors degree in public or business administration, management information systems, or computer science.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:
Required: Relevant certification in application or platform being supported, if applicable.

EXPERIENCE:
Required: Minimum of six (6) years paid experience, four (4) of which need to be at an application analyst level. Other experience should be in a healthcare environment which includes systems and procedures analysis, project management, systems support, or coordinating the data processing operations.
Preferred: Experience with specific application/platform being supported.
