This position can reside in Wilmington, DE, Jacksonville, FL or Orlando, FL and will support all Nemours locations. It is a hybrid position with telecommuting, traveling to Nemours locations and working at home base office location.
The primary function of the Manager, Office of Faculty Development is to oversee, develop and manage the complex system-wide high visibility projects and programs that advance and support the development of Nemours faculty for the Office of Faculty Development.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor the Office of Faculty Development staff.
- Develop strategies and plans to support Nemours faculty to national preeminence and increased professional satisfaction.
- Oversee and administer activities of the office as well as related activities needed to integrate Office of Faculty Development across Nemours sites and divisions.
- Support the advancement and development of Nemours medical faculty in collaboration with the faculty liaisons, Director of the Office of Faculty Development and Director, Education Programs.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative assessments to implement continuous improvement initiatives to assure the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of programs and events.
- Oversee collaborative projects, cross functional teams and programs that cross multiple departments and sites including but not limited to the mentoring program.
- Communicate effectively with a variety of organizational leaders to ensure that the Office of Faculty Development is collaborating with appropriate stakeholders and meeting organizational needs
Essential Functions:
- Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by employee's supervisor.
- Leadership - Leads system-wide projects and programs to support Nemours faculty. This includes programs that are developed both within the Office of Faculty Development and in collaboration with other divisions/departments including but not limited to Research, Medical Library, Medical Staff Services, Graduate Medical Education, Health and Wellness, Continuing Education and Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Alignment.
- Supervision - Supervise staff to ensure they are working effectively to deliver programming that is on-time, high-quality and meets the needs of faculty. Mentoring staff to ensure that technical skills meet the needs of the programs and they have the right tools to support the Office of Faculty Development.
- Analysis - Perform and/or oversee the qualitative and quantitative assessments on faculty development programs and system-wide data collected to support Nemours faculty.
- Budget Management - Develop and oversee the Office of Faculty Development budget.
- Problem Solving - Use escalation mechanisms to identify, document and seek resolution on problems and risks for system-wide complex projects that have high visibility at Nemours.
- Time Management & Organization - Effectively manages all project and program phases with accountability for multiple deliverables. This includes mentoring staff on time management and organizational principles.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degree preferred
- PMP certification is required within 2 years of hire
- Must have more than 5 years of direct experience in project/program management. Previous experience with staff supervision required. Previous experience in academic health care setting preferred.
