Summary:
The Ophthalmology Assistant performs vision exams, refractory testing, muscle testing, recording eyeglass prescriptions; Completes preliminary eye function testing and explaining to patients about medication and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Performs vision exams including: refractory testing, eye muscle testing and recording eye glass prescriptions.
- Collects patient health history information.
- Provides patient education related to medications and procedures.
- Calibrates and maintains ophthalmic equipment and instruments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certified Opthalmic Assistant (COA)
Other information:
REQUIRED: 2+ years related experience
