About the opportunity:
The Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and coordination of activities for all Environmental Services Staff. He / She assists The Manager in the day-to-day operations of all environmental services. They will also be responsible for training, scheduling, timekeeping and managing invoices.
What you will do:
Responsible for conducting inspections of all areas cleaned by staff to ensure quality and standards are met. Inspects work and trains staff on proper use of all hospital equipment as it pertains to EVS.
Reviews daily checkout reports and ensures that all areas are cleaned to standards.
Responsible for the supervision and administration of EVS activities including scheduling, performance management, employee relations, prioritizing and assigning work and related activities.
Demonstrates working knowledge of the cleaning and disinfection principles and requirements, proper chemical, equipment usage, and labor requirements for maintenance of furniture, furnishings, interior finishes for all areas of responsibility.
Provides oversight of inventories, usage data, and ordering of consumable supplies and equipment repairs.
Prepares work and time schedules, under the direction of the Manager, coordinating vacation and holiday time, reviewing daily adjustments in the work schedule and approves timecards.
Assists with selection and onboarding of EVS staff; supports orientation, training and mentoring to staff.
Adheres to all organizational safety, risk management, and infection control and prevention standards. Promotes a culture of patient safety through observation and education.
Responds to emergency calls and multiple priorities as needed to coordinate staffing changes and minimize disruption.
Supervises the work of subcontractors and/or EVS suppliers for the department as needed.
Complies with federal, state and local legal and certification requirements.
Role models the principles of Just Culture and Organizational Values.
Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.
