Position Summary

Responsibilities

• Maintains records and assures accountability of all controlled substances.
• Assists with inventory management, medication and supply ordering.
• Assists in maintaining the pharmacy in a neat and clean condition using taught 5S techniques.
• Practices excellent customer service when answering phone calls; respectfully problem solves to address customer needs.
• Undertakes and/or assists with projects as necessary to improve and maintain a high standard of pharmacy service.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Outpatient Duties
• Assists with the filling of outpatient prescriptions accurately, and processes billing correctly.
• Coordinates activities such as third-party billing, Technician training, accounts receivable reconciliation and (if applicable) refill authorization.
• Inpatient Duties
• Prepares unit dose medications with accurate labeling and documentation, according to department policy.
• Processes reports and cart fills for automated dispensing devices (AcuDose, Robot, Connect Rx and Narc Station) accurately and according to department policy.
• Prepares IV admixtures aseptically, timely, accurately with proper labeling and documentation per department policy.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by the Washington State Department of Health
• Successful completion of National Pharmacy Technician Certification Program (preferred)
• Retail pharmacy experience (retail only)
