oAdventHealth Winter Park has continuously served the residents of Winter Park and its surrounding communities for more than 50 years.
oChartered in 1951, the hospital has grown from the visionary efforts of a handful of Winter Park residents and community leaders, to a 320-bed acute care facility that is a model of community health and wellness providing service excellence to more than 14,000 inpatients each year.
Unit Description:
·Advent Health Winter Park Labor and Delivery Unit is a premier destination for obstetrical care. We provide individualized care for generations in a boutique style environment.
·The Labor and Delivery Unit provides Level II Maternity Care for approximately 3,500 births per year, and consists of 4 OB Triage rooms, 10 labor rooms, 3 OB ORs and 4 PACU beds. The adjacent units are a 12 bed Level II NICU and a 34 bed Mother Baby Unit.
·The multidisciplinary OB team is supported 24/7 by on unit OB Hospitalists, Neonatologists/Pediatric Hospitalists and Anesthesiology.
·Advent Health for Women is a key part of the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative’s PROVIDE initiative (reducing primary c-sections) and MORE (reducing maternal opioids). Our team is able to provide virtual classes and tours with our patients and individualized care with our Birth Experience team.
·Other highlights include Professional Excellence Programs, Perinatal Nurse Internship Programs and our Multidisciplinary Obstetrical Simulation Training

The role you’ll contribute: Under general supervision, a surgical scrub technician/nurse assists with the patient care in surgery by performance of technical and other delegated duties. Functions as a member of the surgical team, as a scrub person by providing care to surgical patients of age specific groups identified in the unit standards of care (may include neonate to geriatric). Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Performs the role of surgical scrub by anticipating the needs of the surgeon and keeping the circulating nurse informed of any needs throughout a procedure. Ensures that all supplies, equipment, and medications are assembled prior to the procedure.
In an efficient and organized manner, assists team with safe and appropriate operating room turnover times. Directs ancillary personnel participating in room turnover. Provides assistance and support as needed to members of the surgical team.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
If LPN, must have current, valid State of Florida license as a Licensed Professional Nurse. Additional surgical technician certification not required.
Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), National Paramedical Technicians and Assistant Association, or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). Completion of an RN training program will be accepted in place of certification.
BLS certification
Translife/Kidney Procurement ONLY requires driving of an AdventHealth vehicle.
