The role you’ll contribute:
The Surgical Tech works under the supervision of the surgeon and RN. Assists surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Uses physician preference card to identify supplies and equipment needed for the scheduled surgical or emergency procedures.
- Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure.
- Prepares solutions and medications used. Properly labels and reports amounts used for charting.
- Prepare back table and mayo stand anticipating needs of the surgeon and through the use of the surgeon’s preference card.
- Provides supplies or equipment upon request for the surgeon, nurses and/or anesthesiologist.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Required:
- 1 year of experience in a surgical setting.
- BLS from American Heart Association
- Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado. A person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another clinical Colorado license, certification, or registration does not need to register as a Surgical Tech.
- Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
Preferred:
- 1 year of experience in a surgical setting
