General Summary
Manage, supervise and coordinate operational activities within the Neurodiagnostic department. The position will supervise the Sleep Lab at Duke Raleigh.
Work Performed
Lead Tier 1 Huddles (direct reports), attend Tier 2 Huddles (other supervisors and managers)
Place maintenance and engineering requests, follow up on previously requested items
Schedule urgent sleep studies requested by providers
Order supplies, place goods receipt for received supplies
Place order for sleep studies from outside (of Duke) providers
Check all sleep study orders for accuracy, note any special requests for additional resources (lift needed, supplemental oxygen, HGN titration, etc.), contact attending MD for any unclear orders
Assign appropriate workload for overnight staff
Enter billing for completed sleep tests
Correct any OnBase report transmission errors (Score sheets not sent through HL7 will have an error log sent to supervisors for remediation)
Maintain equipment logs for accreditation
Conduct study quality reviews
Review patient surveys and act on feedback
Collect and document daily and monthly bed utilization
Reconcile staffing and PTO with patient schedule and fill or cancel beds as needed.
Maintain staff competencies, including 10-20 EEG headmarking, annual moves training, fire and cardiac event safety
Work with frontline staff to create standard work for workflows within the sleep lab
Participate in the interviewing, hiring and onboarding of new staff
Complete mid-year and annual staff reviews, as well as frequent 1:1 check-ins with personnel
Lead QI projects
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Prefer a bachelor's degree in biology, physiology, psychology, or related field. Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) AND registry with North Carolina Medical Board (NCMB) per North Carolina Article 42, The Polysomnography Act OR Certified/Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) AND licensure with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) required.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Prefer a Bachelors degree in biology, physiology, psychology, or related field.
Experience
Work requires 3 years of experience in Neurodiagnostics including but not limited to EEG, Evoked Potentials, Epilepsy, PSG and TCD's. Prefer at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.

Prefer a Bachelors degree in biology, physiology, psychology, or related field.
Registered as a Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) with NC Medboard is required per North Carolina Article 42 the "Polysomnography Practice Act". Maintain current BLS certification.
