Emergency Department

Patient Population: All ages, acuities, stages of life and types.
Patient Ratios: 1:4
Number of Beds: 29 beds
Department Specifics: Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center with LVO capability, Chest Pain Center, Robust EMS Partnership, CT Scanner within the ED, Collaborative relationship with Physicians, Self-scheduling, Certified Emergency Nurse fees paid, Evidence-Based Practices, Trauma Training, Triage Training, Stroke Certification.
Shift: Seasonal PRN Mid (1pm-1am); 3-12 hour shifts per week (1st week orientation then 3-12 hour shifts per week)

Additionally, the facility is an accredited Cycle IV Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center and accredited in weight loss surgery, oncology, etc. The hospital was recognized by U.S. News & World Report in its 2021-2022 "Best Hospitals" ratings as high performing in the common procedures and conditions category for stroke, heart failure, kidney failure and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). It was also recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the only Tarrant County hospital, and one of only two hospitals in the Dallas Fort Worth region, rated High Performing, the highest-possible rating for Best Hospitals for Maternity for 2021-2022. What You'll Do
Using good judgment and clinical reasoning, conduct thorough assessments following practice standards.
Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly. Make adjustments as needed.
Creating safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff.
Managing emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.

Qualifications
A degree from a recognized nursing program
A minimum of 2 year's experience in the field of nursing
A valid Registered Nurse license
The ability to obtain a Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days of employment.
