Phoenix Children’s has an immediate need for a strong leader to oversee the Outpatient Surgery Center and the Aerodigestive Surgery Center. Both units are located on the Main Campus (20th St/Thomas). In this unique role, the incumbent will manage a team in each of the respective areas, and provide leadership, develop staff, and support the providers who are being hired into Phoenix Children’s to provide the specialty care that is needed in our community. Incumbent will manage an overall staff of 100 employees, and direct reports of up to 12 - which will include front line supervisors for the Operating Room, PreOp/PACU, medical assistants, and a dotted line to training/support staff.
About the Role - Incumbent must have a minimum of 5 years OR/PACU experience as a nurse, or in a supervisory role. Pediatric experience is preferred, but will consider adult care experience. This position is primarily M - F, 7 AM - 4 PM. Ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills working in Perioperative Services in a hospital; Strong analytical skills to monitor unit operating and costs and budgets. Must have critical thinking and problem solving skills to resolve complex clinical, systems, and employee issues which will have an impact on the unit, and patient care.

The Manager, Clinical Service promotes family-centered care by subscribing to and supporting Phoenix Children’s mission and values. This position manages, evaluates and supervises operational functions and activities of an assigned area by guiding and supporting staff. The Manager, Clinical Service also serves as a liaison with other departments to plan, implement, communicate, evaluate and coordinate patient care operations across the enterprise, while also facilitating quick resolution of issues to ensure excellence in a family centered care environment.
Education
Bachelor’s in Nursing. (Required)
Master’s degree in related field. (Preferred)
Experience
Five years of experience in the specialty area or with a pediatric patient population to include leadership and / or supervisory responsibilities. (Required)
Certifications
Current AZ RN license or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association. (Required)
PALS certification from the American Heart Association within one year of hire. (Preferred)
National nursing or related certification (e.g. CPN, CCRN, CNML) (Preferred)
Special Skills
Analytical and statistical skills necessary to develop and monitor unit operating and personnel budgets. (Required)
Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving abilities in order to resolve complex clinical, systems and personnel problems and issues which affect the unit and inpatient departments (Required)
