Role Purpose
Assists the Records Supervisor in directing the routine operation of all staff in the Radiology Film Libraries. Assumes overall responsibility for ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations with regard to the release of medical information to legal claimants, payors, physicians and patients.
Responsibilities
Reviews all requests for radiology information from payors and legal claimants.
Oversees all release of radiology information by team members.
Assists supervisor in scheduling work assignments. Develops and evaluates departmental procedures to increase efficiency and productivity.
Monitors, evaluates, and reports errors in all assigned aspects of image handling.
Assists in coordinating the Department's transition to digital acquisition, archival, retrieval and transmittal of images.
