JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Provider Support Assistant to be an integral member of our Duke Endocrine healthcare team. This position will perform administrative responsibilities in support of one or more physician (s) and/or advanced providers. Once orientation and training are completed, this work can be done as a hybrid model alternating between home and in office work.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer telephone, take and deliver messages to physicians, nurses and others. Report obtained medical information from patients and referring physicians accurately, completely and timely. Disseminate messages according to practice communication standards
Schedule or arrange activities effectively; make and confirm travel arrangements as necessary; make appointments.
File and retrieve records in accordance with established procedures and filing systems; research lost or missing records in accordance with established procedures
Perform clerical and typing tasks involved in processing varied office materials such as form letters, requisitions, memoranda, and reports and summaries
Performs various appointment and access-related duties to include, but not limited to, scheduling, canceling, rescheduling, general appointment information, and directions
Utilizes multiple technology applications and systems to perform scheduling tasks such as Maestro Care (Epic)
Processes patient forms according to established processes
Coordinate services across multiple Duke Health locations, departments and providers
Professionally and effectively, communicate verbally and in writing with patients, referring providers, colleagues, and Duke providers
Send and collect referrals, patient records, and other documentation as requested.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent education required.
One-year experience of clerical or general office support required.
JOB HOURS
The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
