We are seeking a dedicated Well Baby NNP who will serve as the WBN NNP Lead.
WBN NNP Job Description
Clinical:
· Serve as a primary caregiver for infants in the well-baby nursery.
· Obtain relevant health and medical history, perform thorough physical assessment, review and interpret pertinent diagnostic tests/results.
· Follow up outpatient labs, communicate results to parents, and arrange further follow-up as needed.
· Develop appropriate and comprehensive differential diagnosis.
· Work collaboratively with Neonatologist to develop treatment plan for infant.
· Maintain clear, comprehensive, and concise records of all aspects of patient care.
· Order medication and treatments on your own authority and with the agreement of the Neonatologist.
· Perform procedures required to care for infant.
· Be knowledgeable of and actively incorporate evidence-based guidelines developed by Pediatrix Medical group into patient care.
· Maintain essential knowledge of general disease and pathologic processes; maintain extensive knowledge of specialty literature including awareness of developing areas.
· Prioritize work and assist team and nursing staff to provide prompt and efficient patient flow.
· Consistently maintain high productivity according to identified standards.
· Participate in mandatory, annual Skills Lab.
· Obtain credentialing in circumcision procedure prior to start date.
SLH WBN NNP Site Lead Job Description
· Serve in a leadership role, as the Saint Lukeâ™s Hospital Well Baby Nursery Site Lead.
· Serve as a champion of well-baby services.
· Provide medical leadership with the SLH WBN Medical Director in developing clinical guidelines, protocols, policies, procedures, order sets, and information systems that support the delivery of well newborn care.
· Provide clinical care to well newborns including circumcisions and follow up labs on discharged newborns.
· In coordination with the SLH WBN Medical Director, together provide administrative or education time as needed.
· Serve as liaison between Pediatrix Medical group and SLH hospital leadership (Nursing Director, Nursing Manager, etc.).
· Collaborate with SLH OB providers to keep open communication about patient care and infant outcomes.
· Support the siteâ™s nursing and ancillary staff as an expert mentor.
· Meet with SLH WBN RN Manager as needed.
· Collaborate with SLH WBN Medical Director, PDX Education Lead and SLH System Educator to develop and execute education for RN and ancillary staff, perform audits and assess other needs.
· Perform other duties as needed and directed by the System Medical Director or SLH WBN Medical Director.
· Attend weekly Pediatrix Medical Group meetings.
· Attend monthly NNP Group meeting and provide updates to group regarding any proposed changes, new policies, etc.
