Behavioral Health Clinical Therapist responsibilities include developing treatment plans, facilitating individual and group interventions and overseeing the overall mental health wellbeing of their patients.

·Interacts professionally with patients/families; treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families.
·Effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers, demonstrating customer service excellence through application of positive language principles, appropriate response and use of constructive problem-solving techniques which foster positive outcomes.
·Maintains accurate and continued documentation appropriately for all assessments, treatments, and evaluations performed. Documentation meets current standards and policies.
·Documents all activity appropriately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
·Conduct prescreening assessments, Evaluating clients? mental, behavioral, and emotional health.
·Conduct preliminary interviews and document cases from the initial consultation to the end of treatment.
·Assist in the patients' and family members' orientation to the unit.
·Provide discharge planning and follow-up for patients assigned.
·Complete Master Treatment Plan within 72 hours of admission and treatment plan review within seven (7) days after.
·Coordinate the interdisciplinary assessment process and develop a bio-psychosocial summary within five (5) days of admission.
·Provide group psychotherapy as well as other psychoeducation to patients according to program schedule.
·Provide individual psychotherapy and/or case management sessions, with a minimum of one session per week.
·Conduct family therapy sessions as needed throughout the patient's stay in program.
·Participate in clinical staff meetings, super-vision sessions, and inservices and promote a therapeutic social environment on the unit by formal and informal methods.
·Conduct community education activities as directed by the Program Director.
·Participate in Quality Assessment / Quality Improvement (QA/QI) process as assigned.
·Participates in rotation to provide 24-hour/7-days a week coverage of the unit.
Qualifications
Education:
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Behavioral Science Field,required
Required Licenses:
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW),preferred.
Required Certifications:
·Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, within 90 days of hire or transfer.
·Certification in De-Escalation Training on How to Help Prevent Potential Violence, within 90 days of hire or transfer.
Required Skills:
·Requirements will include successful completion of orientation checklist and skills/credentials/competency requirements of specific area of work.
·Demonstrates personal characteristics of patience, tact, cheerfulness and enthusiasm toward the program and patients. Must be able to cope with all types of patient behavior.
·Able to maintain a high awareness of patient satisfaction and teamwork.
·Attention to detail.
·Ability to respond to and cope with emergency situations professionally and calmly.
·Adaptable to performing well under pressure in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·Proficient computer knowledge
·Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
·Demonstrates proficient time management skills.
·Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security. Additional languages preferred.
Experience:
Minimum two (2) years? experience in Mental Health field, required.
