Description

As an Administrative Assistant 3 with Ophthalmology's Cornea and Uveitis Westwood clinic, you will take on the role of Surgery Coordinator. You will be the point of contact for patients and providers for all surgery needs. We are looking for an experienced and compassionate individual that can seamlessly manage our patients' care.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Schedule patients for surgery and all related appointments
Work closely with doctors and OR staff
Obtain pre-authorizations and referrals
Coordinate with insurance companies
Arrange payment services
Assist patients through the consenting process

Salary Range: $29.42-42.14

Qualifications

Required:

Excellent interpersonal skills which promote pleasant and effective communications with patients, staff and doctors.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Flexible personality and ability to adapt to changing needs of department.
Ability to interact calmly and effectively with patients with difficult personalities.

Preferred:

One year experience working in a medical office including answering telephones, scheduling, familiarity with current billing practices including governmental plans, and registering patients in UCLA Encounter Registration system.
Experience working in a teaching environment.
Experience working in an Ophthalmology practice.
