POSITION SUMMARY:
The Vice Chair of OR Anesthesia Clinical Operations is a full-time member of Beverly Anesthesiology, Inc, reporting to the Co-Chairs of the Department of Anesthesiology.?? In addition to providing clinical activities, the Vice Chair provides leadership and clinical direction for the operating room anesthesia services and is responsible for the oversight of assigned areas within the department???s clinical performance functions and quality management activities.?? The Vice Chair will collaborate with the Co-Chairs of Anesthesiology to achieve strategic goals, including expanding patient care, tracking measurement-based outcomes and productivity metrics, and promoting collaboration across the department.?? The Vice Chair will promote fiscally responsible operations.?? This position is involved in activities that support the department???s mission of quality patient care, research, education and training and quality services.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:??

In collaboration with the Co-Chairs of Anesthesiology, leads and implements effective strategic planning and assists with achieving departmental clinical and academic strategic departmental goals within the assigned areas of responsibilities.??
Develops and implements innovative care delivery models to enhance clinical activity, team efficiency, and patient satisfaction in conjunction with health system clinical operations leadership.??
Leads, manages, and oversees the OR day to day clinical practice including and not limited to triaging the department???s resources, triaging surgical cases, management of scheduling related matters, attend to acute clinical needs, engagement activities, including utilization review, efficiency, and quality improvement programs.?? Ensuring adequate anesthesiology coverage.??
Liaison with appropriate medical center leaders and faculty to set standards and expectations for clinical services.
At the discretion of the Department Co-Chairs:
Represents the department by serving on boards and committees, attending meetings, presenting and participating in other activities as required.??
Direct and oversee department clinical performance function and quality management activities and provide leadership and clinical direction in areas of assigned responsibilities.??
Offers consultation regarding recruitment, engagement, and employment of program staff as needed.
Support other leadership roles within the department.??
Ensures compliance with accrediting regulatory agencies, standards, policies, and procedures are defined by the hospital.??
Consults with other leadership in the development, implementation, and administration of policies and procedures to achieve short and long-range goals and objectives for all programs.
Multidisciplinary collaboration with the department of surgery and perioperative nursing to ensure optimal patient care and throughput.
Oversees and manages within the assigned areas, including staff peer review, privileging, proctoring, and mentoring.??
Assists with addressing disciplinary issues and mediate interpersonal conflict within the assigned area within the department.??
Provides anesthesia clinical services.
Develops, implements, and monitors policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services.

Participates in teaching of house staff, fellows and students.
Participates in evaluation of the performance of clinical fellows, residents, medical students, and research fellows.??
Participates in departmental and institutional committees in training, research and clinical process activities.
Participates in research activities.

Ensures compliance with state and federal laws, accreditation, professional and regulatory agency standards, including quality assurance and licensure requirements within the divisions and departments.?? Assist in establishing and maintaining a quality assurance program acceptable to the Medical Center as required by The Joint Commission, state and other agencies, which shall include a systematic review of the quality, safety, and appropriateness of services rendered.

Our compensation philosophy: We offer a competitive total compensation and benefits package to our physicians. ??The total pay range shown above takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range includes incentive payments that may be applicable to this role.
Pay Range: $545,896- $714,043 Total Cash Compensation. #dox
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Medical Degree or equivalent
Board Certification in Anesthesiology??
Unrestricted California license as Physician
Medical Staff membership in accordance with requirements for same as specified in the CSMC and Medical Staff bylaws, rules and regulations.
Eligible for recommendation to the appropriate academic rank and appointment
Minimum of five years of active clinical experience with a proven track record
Prior management and/or leadership experience is required.
