Job summary:
Responsible for all areas of day to day operations for the site(s) with focus on work flow, quality, process improvement, personnel, and general leadership. Team Leader is well-versed in laboratory practices, customer orientation, and information technology.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience as a phlebotomist; 2 years is preferred
Prior experience in a leadership position is a plus
Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency is preferred
In depth knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities and techniques
Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Comfortably working under minimal supervision
Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
Daily Team Lead Responsibilities
Team Lead will report to office or scheduled work location by 8am. If you are unable to report to work by 8am follow call in/late to work procedure guidelines.
Check e-mail and respond in timely manner. If on vacation, Specify and delegate a person to contact in your absence.
Fact files should be completed as events occur for any incident that may need to be referred to at a later date such as special circumstances, irate patients/clients, and placed in file (FACT FILE FOLDER) and/or electronically documented.
Follow-up/investigate any concerns brought to you by Employees or Customers at site, present findings to supervisor if necessary for follow-up.
Oversee and participate in workflow to ensure daily goals are met.
Wear appropriate PPE as required.
Provide Mentorship and effective on the job training, so that performance objectives are clear, staff members know and have the necessary skills to perform effectively, learning includes feedback that is evaluative, diagnostic and corrective.
Assist with staff competency Assessments at Site. Assists Supervisor/Manager in performing various assigned responsibilities including but not limited to workflow recommendations.
Assist Supervisor in ensuring staff is in compliance with all LabCorp Policies, including quality and safety. Coordinates work/information between designated parties and ensures optimal performance such that objectives and goals are achieved completely and accurately.
Assist with implementation of new policies and procedures. Completely and accurately inform clients of policies and procedures so that all information is understood by recipients.
Ensures all daily logs are completed accurately to include but not limited to temperature monitoring, disinfection, and printer cleaning logs when performing site visits.
Ensures Daily closing reports are completed to include but not limited to Cash Sales and Web Solutions when performing site visits.
Facilitates resolution of conflicts by allowing employees to talk uninterrupted, structures problem in behavioral terms, reflects back what was said, requests solutions, recommends solutions when necessary, creates accountabilities, follows-up.
Professional to staff and Customers/Clients.
Weekly Team Lead Responsibilities
For all errors found during PROC investigation for sites, investigate error and retrain PSTS. PROC report is to be pulled biweekly.
Ensure Cash Sales Reports are updated weekly and forwarded to Supervisor at the end of the month
Prepare and review operational metrics and other data for Management on a regular basis.
Notifies Supervisor/Manager in a timely manner of customer/client issues and concerns that are not within the Team Leader?s scope of responsibility to resolve.
Assist Supervisor with staffing and scheduling
Monthly Team Lead Responsibilities
Send notifications out to staff to ensure important information is being shared. Send Continuing education to all employees, grade and file upon completion in employee training file.
Ensure end of month metrics/cash sales report have been sent to Manager and all information is accurate and complete.
Expense reports are to be completed and submitted by end of each month. Do not hold T& E for months before submitting. This applies to all employees that submit T&E.
Attend monthly Supervisor Meetings or as scheduled by Manager.
Sign off on Temperature Logs at locations with a LabCorp refrigerator. Ensure logs are completed accurately and any discrepancies are noted. Retraining is documented and complete.
Annually/Bi Annually Team Lead Responsibilities
Department General Compliance Training completed in Learning Path
Department Annual Training, orientation manual reviewed with department and all policies re-signed and filed, completed in Learning Path
PRN Team Lead Responsibilities
Taining of new/existing employees concerning new initiatives, updates, test requirements, etc.
Review Emergency Close (Ice, Snow, Hurricane) protocol with employees at beginning of season
