The role you’ll contribute:
Under the direction of the Director/Manager of Post-Surgical and Orthopedic and Neuroscience (Spine) Program Medical Directors, the Neuroscience/Orthopedic RN Coordinator (NOC) has the responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on the care of the Neuroscience (Spine) and Orthopedic patient population. The NOC will facilitate an evidenced-based, multidisciplinary, multi-specialty approach to Neuroscience and Orthopedic care throughout the care continuum. The NOC provides direct clinical service to patients and families to include patient education, in collaboration with the Orthopedic and Neuroscience (Spine) Coordinators and Neurosurgeon/Orthopedic surgeons; serves as a resource for orientation, patient care services, and education of hospital and medical staff. The NOC oversees and assists with gathering of records, performance of abstraction of concurrent and retrospective records, and evaluates program data for use in establishing program goals.

· Collaborates with CNO, Post-Surgical Director/Manager, Quality Director/Manager, Leadership and Neuroscience (Spine) and Orthopedic Medical Directors in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Orthopedic/Neuroscience programs; · Collaborates with the Post-Surgical Director/Manager to ensure proper utilization of organization’s financial resources. Effectively utilizes resources within established budget; notifies director of all staffing variances. Recommends methods to reduce expenditures and/or enhance revenues without compromising quality of services. Monitors, collects, abstracts and reports data for CJR and any other assigned programs that are deemed appropriate. · Determines processes needed for the Orthopedic and Neurospine programs and their application – ensuring operation and control of processes are effective; performs the assessment and monitoring of these processes; · Demonstrates complex assessment skills: provides and/or facilitates appropriate education for patients and families according to individual learning needs · Strives for evidence-based practice and demonstrates critical-thinking skills to ensure optimal, safe outcomes; · Monitors, reviews and analyzes program data for compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policy and professional standards for patient services, and environmental and personnel safety. Oversees and assists to perform concurrent and retrospective record review and abstraction to validate metric compliance; Prepares departmental reports, studies and audits as needed; provides feedback regarding data collected and outcomes to hospital leadership, medical staff, and others as applicable; Develops, facilitates and monitors selected performance metrics and ensures compliance with all activities required to achieve and effectively maintain meeting all national guidelines and Disease-Specific Certifications with DNV-GL; Oversees the utilization and actively monitors a data tracking system for neuroscience/orthopedic program through the care continuum such as patient satisfaction data, patient outcomes, and identifying areas that require improvement, to report to appropriate committees; Measures and analyzes processes; Implements action necessary to achieve goals and continual improvement of processes.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
· Registered Nurse graduated from an accredited school of nursing · Associate’s degree in healthcare-related field · Current active and clear FL Registered Nurse license · American Heart Association BLS · ACLS certification
