The community you’ll be caring for:
Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando.
Serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America.
AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country.
We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year.
The role you’ll contribute:
Works under the direction of Anesthesia Techs level 1-3 to assists licensed anesthesia providers with patient care and equipment maintenance.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Assists with cleaning and set up of anesthesia equipment.
Assists with maintaining equipment and troubleshoots malfunctions.
Under the direction of the Anesthesiologist or CRNA assists anesthesia professional staff as requested: Assists in preparation and draping of patient for invasive monitoring/ procedures by licensed anesthesia providers. Aids in preparation of patients for major routine cases including but not limited to placement of BP cuff, ECG leads, Pulse Oximeter, positioning. Sets up OR for cases which may include the following: Preparation of laryngoscope and intubation equipment, IV solution and tubing set-up and set up of IV warming devices.
Makes available, assembles, and assists with operation of specialized equipment such as humidification units; fiber optic endoscopic equipment; rapid infusion devices/blood warmers; patient warming devices; neuromuscular devices; infusion pumps and syringes;
Maintains and organizes the anesthesia environment, equipment, supplies and personnel to facilitate department functions. Maintains the availability of necessary equipment in each operating room. Participates in room turnovers to ensure efficient flow of cases. Provides peri-operative technical support to the anesthesia professional staff for delivery of patient care.
Demonstrates basic knowledge for anesthesia delivery system, scavenger system, gas analyzer, EKG, pulse oximeter and any other anesthesia related equipment. Responds to and investigates all anesthesia machine alarms. Reports malfunctioning equipment and follows through to ensure replacement.
Cognizant of where supplies are kept and can be obtain or stock them accordingly. Maintains the sterile supplies and medications within the expiration date. Ensures medications are secured always. Properly disposes of used medications. Monitors refrigerators utilized for stock of medications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
