Summary:

Histology Technicians perform specimen accessioning and assist with frozen sections within the Laboratory. This individual performs quantitative, qualitative, and subjective lab procedures by manual and automated methods for inpatient and outpatient specimens across all disciplines of the lab. The Histology Tech accurately performs quality assurance, calibrations, and quality control processes. Embedding, microtome, tissue processing, and immunohistochemistry processes are all utilized in this profession.

Responsibilities:
Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting for quality assurance purposes.

Performs Specimen Accessioning and assists with frozen sections.

Performs Embedding.

Conducts Microtome, Tissue Processing and Immunochemistry processes.

Other duties as assigned.

Education:
Essential:
* HS DIPLOMA/GED

A minimum of 60 college credits in Health Science or a related field
