Guthrie Clinic invites a dynamic and visionary leader to join our team as the System Chair of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. This role provides an exceptional opportunity to lead an experienced and dedicated team across a multi-hospital system, ensuring excellence in clinical care, education, and research.

Highlights of the opportunity

• Lead anesthesiology services across five hospitals and multiple outpatient facilities, ensuring high standards in patient safety, efficiency, and clinical outcomes.
• Oversee a collaborative and skilled team of over 50 anesthesia professionals, including anesthesiologists and CRNAs.
• Dedicate approximately 40% of your time to direct patient care, maintaining hands-on clinical excellence while shaping departmental strategy.
• Drive strategic initiatives, including expanding specialties, optimizing operating room utilization, and enhancing the patient-provider experience.
• Partner with the residency program director, academic leadership, and clinical teams to foster innovation, research, and education.
• Play a key role in operational and financial planning, ensuring resource efficiency and alignment with Guthrie's vision.
  

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 10-15 years of clinical experience, with at least 5 years of leadership experience.
• M.D. or D.O. degree with board certification in Anesthesiology and eligibility for licensure in New York and Pennsylvania.
• Proven ability to lead anesthesia services across multiple sites within a complex healthcare system.
• Strong understanding of clinical operations, strategic planning, and financial management.
• Commitment to advancing the field through academic, research, and teaching excellence.
• Demonstrated dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace.
