SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for providing and coordinating clinical instruction of Medical Laboratory Science students in the area of greatest need; as well as support of Program Director and Student Laboratory instructor in selected didactic and student laboratory disciplines. Preparation of select didactic lectures and development of clinical instruction materials in consultation with laboratory section supervisors and staff, as needed to support MLS students and training program needs. Responsible for receiving and tracking pre-matriculation and application materials, scheduling student lectures and assisting PD and Student Laboratory Instructor as needed. Responsible for working with other MLS program staff to recruit, educate and advise MLS students to ensure MLS program meets/exceeds NAACLS accreditation requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science or related field with minimum three (3) years of clinical laboratory background working in a laboratory required.
MLS (ASCP) - Medical Laboratory Scientist, American Society of Clinical Pathology Certification, CLT (HHS) Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Health and Human Services Certification. ASCP Certification required.
Applicants trained outside of the United States must provide documentation of equivalency evaluation of their education and training to ensure it is equivalent to CLIA requirements. The equivalency evaluations will be performed by a nationally recognized organization. Ex. National Association Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES), the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE). The applicant is responsible for paying the cost of the equivalency evaluation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Master's degree with prior teaching experience preferred.
