GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sole Dentist comfortable working independently. Option to grow and develop an already busy practice, with established & experienced support staff. Supervises 3 dental staff members (hygienist and assistants). Provides leadership to entire dental office.
The Dentist is appointed by and responsible to the Chief Medical Officer and is charged with providing leadership in all areas relating to the clinical operation of the dental clinic. The Dentist is responsible for recommending and implementing clinical policies and procedures, supervising the clinical staff in their dental duties, ensuring continuous quality improvement in all clinical activities, and acting as an integral part of the management team of the dental office.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures quality control, oversees clinical protocols and procedures, coordinates clinical activities to ensure clinical outcomes and supervises dental clinic staff.
Evaluate, diagnose, prevent and/or treat diseases, disorders/or conditions of the oral cavity.
Examines patient to determine nature of condition, utilizing x-rays, dental instruments, and other diagnostic procedures.
Organizes the clinical staff and resources in carrying out the dental program of the Health Center.
Participates with the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Medical Officer to provide input to the management team in regard to dental operations.
Coordinates with the Office Manager in regard to the administrative activities of the dental site.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
The Dentist reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer.
EVALUATION:
The Dentist’s work performance will be evaluated annually by the Chief Medical Officer.
A valid license to practice dentistry in the state of Virginia.
The ability to employ necessary management techniques in the ongoing supervision of the dental staff.
Must be qualified in Basic Life Support techniques.
The ability to analyze complex information and communicate effectively in oral and written communication.
Personal and professional qualities which will permit the Dentist to work with the staff of the dental center in such a manner as to earn their confidence and respect.
