Position Summary
Phoenix Children’s is hiring a full time RN to support 6 neurosurgeons and 6 APP’s in the clinic. You will be responsible for triage calls, reviewing referrals for appropriateness to the division, patient education , preparing orders for the surgeons to review and sign, monitoring in-basket email for the surgeons and follow through as needed. This role will also be involved patients who come into the clinic for wound checks and medication injections for spasticity. Incumbent will also review instructions and provide patient/family with any education on care of patient. This position is located at Main Campus (Thomas/20th St), and will be scheduled to work 5/8’s. NO Holidays; NO Weekends and NO Call! Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2+ years as a nurse with strong multitasking skills, demonstrated critical thinking skills, and experience working in a team environment.
This position, in collaboration with the healthcare team, patient, and family, coordinates and promotes patient health utilizing evidence-based practice in the delivery of professional nursing care across the care continuum. This position advocates for the patient and family adhering to nursing and medical plans of care, regulatory standards, and organizational values.
Education
- Two year (ADN) degree in nursing, a four year degree (BSN) in nursing, or a Diploma Nursing degree. (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or currently enrolled in an RN to BSN program. (Preferred)
Experience
- Pediatric experience. (Preferred)
Certifications
- Current State of Arizona RN license or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure according to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association. (Required)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification may be required within 90 days of entry into the position for select departments. (Preferred)
