Role Purpose
Manages the billing department processes and team members to achieve revenue cycle goals. Tracks and records on a monthly basis payer metrics as well as allocation utilization projections.
Responsibilities
Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
Manage the billing dept. processes and team members ensuring that team and organizational goals are met. This involves weekly huddles, twice monthly individual staffing, and a monthly Accounts Receivable team meeting which includes a review of monthly revenue cycle metrics.
Track fiscal year spending compared to allocation. Work across departments to identify opportunities to maximize allocation utilization and meet the needs of the clients we serve. This will sometimes involve revenue and allocation utilization projections for new lines of business under consideration.
Compile month end receivable data and coordinate reconciliation of receivables and cash receipts with the Accounting department. Oversee maintenance of EMR billing logic, new program set up, rate changes, etc.
Actively participate in the revenue cycle team. This includes participation in monthly meetings, compilation of monthly revenue cycle metrics, and identifying solutions for areas in need of improvement. This requires ongoing communication and collaboration with Accounting and HIMS leaders.
