The role you’ll contribute:
The Senior Manager of Pharmacy has primary responsibility for leadership of daily leadership of department operations and the financial performance and budgetary adherence of assigned inpatient and/or outpatient care areas. Working with Director and Market Director of Pharmacy, responsible for leading personnel, financial, operational, clinical, and technical resources within the Department of Pharmacy to ensure medication use is safe, cost effective, and aligned with evidence-based best practices and regulatory standards.Coordinate program development and implementation of policies and procedures, operational efficiencies, quality improvement activities, and process improvement interventions.Manage pharmacy distributive services, facilitate drug utilization initiatives, integrate clinical pharmacy programs, oversee pharmacy information systems, advance medication safety, and ensure regulatory compliance including Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, Florida Board of Pharmacy, and DNV/TJC. Actively participate in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Coordinate and direct pharmacy programs and operations in assigned areas to ensure pharmacy services and distribution systems are aligned with evidence-based best practices and are suitable to meet the patient care needs of assigned services and areas.Manage and supervise staff, operations, and programs to ensure accurate and timely medication distribution, optimize medication utilization, minimize product waste, maximize inventory turns, optimize pharmacy supply use, and maximize staff productivity.
Develop standards of performance to maximize staff roles in accordance with licensure, evaluate staff work and program performance, and provide direction and guidance to subordinate leaders; ensure pharmacy managers and supervisors support the safety, occupational health and fire protection program by application of approved standards, regulations, practices, and work methods; instruct and train or arrange for training leaders in safe working methods and practices.
Ensure the Department of Pharmacy is in compliance with all healthcare regulatory requirements and applicable state and federal laws.Maintain programs in constant state of survey readiness for all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.
Facilitate pharmacy operations to optimize medication utilization, manage pharmacy supply chains and inventory processes, and coordinate effective medication cost containment initiatives.Ensure procurement of medications in compliance with institutional policies and formulary, manufacturer and distributer agreements, and supply chain contracts
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
·Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D
·Five or more years of contemporary hospital pharmacy practice experience
·Three or more years of pharmacy leadership with supervisory experience
·Current, valid State of Florida Pharmacist license or eligible for Pharmacist licensure by endorsement
