The role you’ll contribute:
The Respiratory Therapist provides direct respiratory care to patients in all areas of the clinic. Is knowledgeable in providing and evaluating the routine modes of respiratory care. Responsible for the effective and optimal administration of modalities based upon assessment and evaluation. Provides recommendations and/or changes to care based on patient's current status.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
·Ability to educate patients on pulmonary topics including respiratory medications, nebulizers, non-invasive ventilation, home secretion clearance vests, home oxygen, CPAP/BIPAP use and troubleshooting, and respiratory disease processes.
·Explain and promote pulmonary rehab to potential patients.
·Demonstrates excellent verbal phone skills to conduct phone calls, insurance verification, and patient scheduling.
·Demonstrates proficiency in using Cerner and Athena to schedule patient appointments, find previous testing and notes, and send orders.
·Notifies patient’s physicians as needed with any concerns or major changes in patient status.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
·Associate's Degree or Graduate of a Technical School
·1 years of Experience
·Ability to multi task
·Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and triage tasks according to importance
·CRT - Certified Respiratory Therapist Kansas
·BCLS - Basic Life Support obtained through the American Heart Association
Preferred qualifications:
·Bachelor’s Degree desirable
·1 years of Position-Related Experience
·Pulmonary Function Testing
·Bedside Spirometry
·CPAP/BIPAP initiation and troubleshooting
