The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Virginia is seeking faculty candidates in the subspecialties of Breast Oncology, Classical Hematology, Medical Director for Cell Therapy/Stem Cell Transplant, Leukemia, and Thoracic Oncology.
The Division of Hematology and Oncology is an expanding team of more than 45 physicians and physician-scientists with a vibrant clinical research portfolio. The successful candidate would be a member of the UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center, an NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Virginia. The successful candidate will look to further scholarly achievements through clinical and translational research opportunities. Participation in student, resident, and fellow teaching is required, and opportunities are abundant.
The Breast Oncology candidate should have experience in the management of breast neoplasms.
The Classical Hematology candidate should have expertise in caring for patients with a vast array of hematologic conditions and disorders, including disorders of hemostasis and thrombosis, anemias, platelet disorders, bone marrow failure syndromes, myeloproliferative disorders, and other rare hematologic diseases.
The Medical Director for Cell Therapy/Stem Cell Transplant is expected to be at the Associate Professor or Full Professor rank. Rank and tenure status will be dependent upon qualifications. The Medical Director will be responsible for the ongoing design of the clinical program (quality management, selection and care of patients and donors, clinical research) as well as lead the recruitment of additional faculty members and the development of a top-tier cellular therapy and transplantation program.
The Leukemia candidate should have expertise in the care of patients with various types of Leukemia.
The Thoracic Oncology candidate should have experience in the management of thoracic neoplasms.
All teams are comprised of a collaborative group of physicians, nurses, advanced practitioners, and research coordinators.
The candidates must be board certified/eligible in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology. Rank and compensation are contingent upon qualifications and expertise.
